Moody was an Auror (now an ex- Auror hence the site name xauror) and is paranoid to this day. He will not eat or drink anything without knowing exactly where it came from. A large chunk of his nose is missing, he has a wooden leg, and a magical glass eye that can see invisible things and see through objects.
