Title:Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them
by Newt Scamander
This book isn't you're average Harry Potter book,
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, was written as if it was Harry's
book. It contains hand written notes and pictures by Harry, Hermione, and Ron,
themselves. J.K. Rowling set up a fund where twenty percent of the retail sales
price less taxes from the sales of Quidditch Through the Ages and
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them , will go to the Comic Relief
Program. Comic Relief is a charity which fights against child slavery, educates
children about the HIV/AIDs epidemic, provides schools for children in poverty,
reunites parents and children who where separated by war, and much more.
This book explains all about magical animals, and the study of them, Magizoology.
What is a "beast" and what is a "being"? It is a question that has been asked
for ages, should a werewolf be considered a "being" since it is human, or should
it be classified as a "beast" since it can do serious damage to the surrounding
community. Only 100% humans can be considered "beings."
Are Muggles aware of magical beasts? We find that some magical beasts can be
seen by Muggles. This caused a problem, could these creatures cause Muggles to
be aware of Magical Presence? Yes, so we made Clause 73 of the International
Code of Wizarding Secrecy. This Clause states that each wizarding community is
in charge of concealing the magical beasts in their area, and if a creature
draws attention to the Muggle community, that nations wizarding governing body
is subject to discipline by the International Confederation of Wizards.
What can we do to conceal our fuzzy, furious, and fanged friends? Many things
such as safe habitats, disillusionment charms, and the final choice memory
charms.
The ministry takes part in Magizoology, too. The ministry has created a
classification system of a certain number of X's. X being boring, XX meaning
Harmless/ may be domesticated, XXX telling us that Only a competent wizard
should cope with, XXXX causing this beast to be Dangerous/ requires specialists
knowledge, and a XXXXX is a Known wizard killer/ impossible to train or
domesticate.
You learn of many magical creatures from Horklumps (X) which comes from
Scandinavia, and resembles a fleshy, pinkish, mushroom, with sparse wiry black
bristles, to a Chimera (XXXXX) a rare Greek monster with the head of a lion,
body of a goat, and tail of a dragon.
